BEYOND THE GROOVER” series expresses the fusion of GYARD’s craftsmanship in cutting acetate frames and metal parts. 8mm-thick acetate fabric is handmade by GYARD craftsmen to create three-dimensional shapes.
BEYOND THE GROOVER’s metal motifs are inspired by ancient Japanese religious architecture and metal fittings of ancient folk tools. Taking a cue from the ancient harmony of “wood” and “metal fittings,” we combine Japanese acetate fabric with metal parts plated in two tones of gold and silver. Instead of simply using thick plastic with a voluminous feel, a lively expression is created by cutting the sides and shaving the back.
