LUKE has been popular for its small size and stylish presence. Now, for the first time in about 10 years, the LUKE has been modified to reflect the current mood, and is now available as THE LUKE, with an appearance befitting BEYOND THE GROOVER and an increased strength due to its increased size.
BEYOND THE GROOVER series expresses the fusion of GYARD’s craftsmanship in cutting acetate frames and metal parts. 8mm-thick acetate is handmade by GYARD craftsmen to create a three-dimensional shape.
This is a limited edition with a limited number of production.
BEYOND THE GROOVER’s metal motifs are inspired by ancient Japanese religious architecture and metal fittings of ancient folk tools. Taking a cue from the ancient harmony of “wood” and “metal fittings,” we combine Japanese acetate fabric with metal parts plated in two tones of gold and silver. Instead of simply using thick plastic with a voluminous feel, a lively expression is created by cutting the sides and shaving the back.
